Hinde (1904) records nsuki and kinyu of “Ulu dialect” (spoken then from Machakos to coastal area) and nzuki of “Nganyawa dialect” (spoken then in Kitui District) as equivalents of English bee, listing also “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu njuki and Swahili nyuki as their equivalents.[1]
