        चण्डवेग इति ख्यातो गन्धर्वाधिपतिर्नृप। गन्धर्वास्तस्य बलिनः षष्ट्युत्तरशतत्रयम्॥

        caṇḍavega iti khyāto gandharvādhipatirnṛpa. gandharvāstasya balinaḥ ṣaṣṭyuttaraśatatrayam.

        O King! In Gandharvaloka there is a king named Caṇḍavega. Under him there are 360 very powerful Gandharva soldiers.

        ज्ञात्वा मम मतं साध्वि पिता दुहितृवत्सलः। बृहत्सेन इति ख्यातस्तत्रोपायमचीकरत् ॥

        jñātvā mama mataṃ sādhvi pitā duhitṛvatsalaḥ. bṛhatsena iti khyātastatropāyamacīkarat.

        My father, named Bṛhatsena, was by nature compassionate to his daughter, and knowing how I felt, O saintly lady, he arranged to fulfil my desire.

        स वै पूर्वमभूद्राजा पाण्ड्यो द्रविडसत्तमः। इन्द्रद्युम्न इति ख्यातो विष्णुव्रतपरायणः॥

        sa vai pūrvamabhūdrājā pāṇḍyo draviḍasattamaḥ. indradyumna iti khyāto viṣṇuvrataparāyaṇaḥ.

        He had formerly been a Vaiṣṇava and the king of the country known as Pāṇḍya, which is in the province of Draviḍa . In his previous life, he was known as Indradyumna Mahārāja.

        आसीद्राजा सार्वभौमः शूरसेनेषु वै नृप। चित्रकेतुरिति ख्यातो यस्यासीत्कामधुङ्‍मही॥

        āsīdrājā sārvabhaumaḥ śūraseneṣu vai nṛpa. citraketuriti khyāto yasyāsītkāmadhuṅ‍mahī.

        O King , in the province of Śūrasena there was a king named Citraketu, who ruled the entire earth. During his reign, the earth produced all the necessities for life.

        यो रातो देवयजने देवैर्गाधिषु तापसः। देवरात इति ख्यातः शुनःशेफस्तु भार्गवः॥

        yo rāto devayajane devairgādhiṣu tāpasaḥ. devarāta iti khyātaḥ śunaḥśephastu bhārgavaḥ.

        Although Śunaḥśepha was born in the Bhārgava dynasty, he was greatly advanced in spiritual life, and therefore the demigods involved in the sacrifice protected him. Consequently he was also celebrated as the descendant of Gādhi named Devarāta.

        धर्मस्य सूनृतायां तु भगवान्पुरुषोत्तमः। सत्यसेन इति ख्यातो जातः सत्यव्रतैः सह॥

        dharmasya sūnṛtāyāṃ tu bhagavānpuruṣottamaḥ. satyasena iti khyāto jātaḥ satyavrataiḥ saha.

        In this manvantara, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appeared from the womb of Sūnṛtā, who was the wife of Dharma, the demigod in charge of religion. The Lord was celebrated as Satyasena, and he appeared with other demigods, known as the Satyavratas.
