First attested in 1395. Borrowed from a South Slavic language. Compare Bulgarian грозд (grozd, “bunch of grapes”), dialectal Bulgarian грезд (grezd, “spigot”), Serbo-Croatian grozd (“ grapes”), Slovene grȍzd (“id.”), Old Church Slavonic гроздъ (grozdŭ, “id.”).[1]
