      Vom 5. Mai ab konnte nun eine geregelte Vertheilung von Wasser an den Brunnen eintreten. Die Jedem zugetheilte Quantität betrug auf je 3 Mann einen kleinen Spann (Wedro) für 24 Stunden. Die Pferde sollten je einen Spann Wasser für 24 Stunden erhalten, man fand es jedoch praktischer und ökonomischer, Pontons bei den Brunnen zu placiren, diese zu füllen und die Pferde daraus zu tränken.

The horses were supposed to get a bucket of water each for 24 hours, but it was perceived more feasible and economical to place pontoons at the wells, fill them and drench the horses therefrom.
