From Proto-Indo-Iranian *átra (there, to that place), cognate with Avestan 𐬀𐬚𐬭𐬀 (aθra, there, to that place), 𐬀𐬚𐬭𐬁 (aθrā), derived from the anaphoric pronominal stem Proto-Indo-European *h₁e (he/she, aforementioned), which was suppletive to *ís.[1]
