I am making an all together new request now
Translate "Parth" & "Purva" in Doric greek with how to pronounce them also.....
i hope you know my previous request in hebrew.
Thank you.....
- Doric was a dialect of Ancient Greek. I don’t think they were aware of these two names 2400 years ago. I would write them Πάρθ and Πούρβα (or Πούρϝα in Early Doric). —Stephen (Talk) 14:16, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- Πάρθ (/partʰ/)
- Πούρβα (/púrba/, /ˈpurva/, the letter β gradually shifted from /b/ to /v/ between 400 BC and 200 AD)
- Πούρϝα (/púrwa/) —Stephen (Talk) 14:16, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
thanks a lot Stephen :: I asked one of the experts , she said, that you cannot translate it in Doric Greek at all...!! y did she said that, whereas you framed it ????????
Thanks for helping i can now continue with my tattoo.... :)
and i also want you to translate " Vishwaa " which is also a noun, name of a person ..which means world.
thankss :D
- The spoken dialect cannot be distinguished in the written form. Doric Greek, Byzantine Greek, Ancient Greek, they would all write it like that, except for the letter ϝ, which disappeared from the language more than 2000 years ago. Vishwaa is more difficult because Greek does not have those consonants. Modern Greek has a V for the last 2000 years, but not much before that. The W can be made with an U sound. But no period or dialect had an SH sound. The best I can do is this:
- Βισουά (/biswá/), or in Modern Greek (/viswá/) —Stephen (Talk) 10:36, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
thanks stephen d last name is correct
but my freind my friends are tellin wen translated on google it shows erroe for name parth" "purva" y is it so ??????????
i am tensed help me...:(
- I don’t understand what you mean. What did they try to translate? From what language into what language? What do they mean by "error"? If you try to translate parth and purva using google translate, from English into Greek, it will not translate it. That is because parth and purva are not recognized as English words, and also not as Greek words, so Google does not know what to do with them. But if you try to translate Parth and Purva into Hindi, you will get पार्थ and पूर्वा, because they are recognized as Hindi words. It’s logical. But you must be more clear for me, from what language into what language, and what do they mean by "error"? —Stephen (Talk) 21:30, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello, could anybody help?
I am wanting to get a tattoo of my grandmothers date of birth which is:
1/09/1941
I don't want it converted to the Jewish calendar, I just want the date to be as it is.
It's going to be be tattooed vertically, so it would help if you could not only help me translate the date but tell me in which direction the text should be read.
Thank you very much.
Hope someone will reply :)
- Horizontally, from right to left, that date is: 1 בספטמבר 1941
- But if it is to be vertical, then I think a different format might be needed. Vertical is not normal in Hebrew, unless you mean to rotate the whole phrase 90°. —Stephen (Talk) 10:52, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

- Japanese...get a second opinion or two before tattooing:
- seize the day for the ones who walked away:
- 去った人のための一日をつかむ (satta hito no tame no tsuitachi o tsukamu)
- Everything is a choice:

- Love life and God

- Alternate possibilities for Japanese:
- seize the day for the ones who walked away -- this one's tricky because it depends on what you mean.
- If this means "live well for the sake of the deceased":
- 亡くなった者のために今を生きろ (naku natta mono no tame ni ima o ikiro)
- For just "live in the moment" (shorter, maybe better for a tattoo):
- 今を生きろ (ima o ikiro}}
- If this means "overcome adversity for the sake of those who gave up":
- 諦めた者のために克服しろ (akirameta mono no tame ni kokufuku shiro)
- everything is a choice:
- 全ては選択がある (subete wa sentaku ga aru), or even shorter, 全ては選択 (subete wa sentaku)
- love life and god (as a list of nouns):
- 愛・命・神 (ai ・ inochi ・ kami)

translation of the aramaic word 'avram' into english please
- Avram simply means Abraham. For more details, see w:Abraham#Etymology. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 21:03, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
the title says it all, please translate Nothing is true, everything is permitted
- Someone who speaks Italian will correct this: "niente e vero, tutto e permesso". Mglovesfun (talk) 14:35, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Looks good to me, but it needs diacritics (they can actually make a difference). So: niente è vero, tutto è permesso. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 20:16, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Could someone translate "what does not break me makes me stronger" and "with faith comes love" into Latin or French. plz and thank you bunches.
- In Latin: Quod me non frangit validiorem me facit. and Cum fide amor venit. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 21:55, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- 2nd one in French "avec la foi vient l'amour", for the 1st one a few possibilities, how about "ce que ne me romp pas me rend plus fort". See briser, casser, rompre. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:03, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
