The Woordenboek der Nederlandsche Taal considers this a calque of German überführen. The Deutsches Wörterbuch does indeed the attest the phrase den Markt überführen (“to oversaturate the market”). In Dutch this was obviously associated with unrelated voeren (“to feed”) in etymology 2 above (which in German, however, is füttern). The said German phrase is obsolete; one would now say den Markt übersättigen.
