First attested in the Worin cheon'gangjigok (月印千江之曲 / 월인천강지곡), 1449, as Middle Korean 가ᄉᆡ〮다〮 (Yale: kàsóy-tá). From Old Korean 改衣 (*KASoy).

가시다 • (gasida) (infinitive 가셔 or 가시어, sequential 가시니)

1. (intransitive) to disappear, to fade away (of a condition or state)

   두통이 싹 가셨다.

   Dutong-i ssak gasyeotda.

   The headache cleanly disappeared.
