Template for listing Chinese dialectal equivalents. Uses Module:zh-dial-syn. Synonym data stored in modules under Module:zh/data/dial-syn.

The title of a data module should be Module:zh/data/dial-syn/x, where x is the term in Modern Standard Mandarin (MSM). When more than one term is used in MSM, consult several sources (including not limited to 《现代汉语词典》, 《现代汉语规范词典》, 《汉语方言词汇》) to choose the "most common" one.

The index of an entry of the variable export.list must correspond to the index of an entry in Module:zh/data/dial.

An entry is a list of dialectal synonyms used in the specified dialectal location or register.

In order to distinguish etymologically distinct synonyms, try to use different characters (e.g. 人 vs. 儂) if possible. This may not necessarily correspond to how characters are treated in actual entries.

Alternatively, if a single character is used for multiple etymologies, it is possible to distinguish these etymologies by indicating the number of the corresponding etymology section in the entry. For example, etymology 2 of 誰 would be "誰_2". See Module:zh/data/dial-syn/誰 for an example.

Notes can be indicated for a synonym by putting the note after the synonym, separated by a colon:

If a note is recurring, symbols can be used, and a key can be indicated in the note entry.
