How is the entry count calculated? I just noticed that none of the columns at WT:Statistics give the number that's on the Main Page (according to those stats, the Main Page count is a significant underestimate). Andrew Sheedy (talk) 20:54, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
Russian Wiktionary since 17 December 2018 has more than 1 million arcites (see Meta). Please move higher the link to Russian Wiktionary. --Brateevsky (talk) 14:16, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
I believe that Joseph Wright's English Dialect Dictionary (six volumes from 1898 to 1905) is in the public domain. Perhaps the words can be incorporated into Wiktionary (where not already present)? Epa101 (talk) 09:07, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
Hallo, I am proposing here a project aimed to enrich the scientific/technical/medical (STM) terms on Wikitionary. From one side, I would adds some terms automatically from the corresponding Wikipedia English pages and make an assessment of relation between the two kind of contents. The process to such evaluation/enrichment would be shared and made available as pseudo-code with the related discussion and comments. Second, I would address such procedure as a multi-language process, making some enrichment/evaluation also on Italian language (my mother tongue), also by hand. If you want to support my proposal and/or if you have questions, please add your comment at the bottom of the project page or write me on the personal discussion page.
Thank you, best --Marco Ciaramella (talk) 16:55, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Would it be possible to make the "Behind the scenes" information appear on the left side of the page just under the introductory text? It would make the page shorter and the list of Wiktionaries in other languages more visible. —The Editor's Apprentice (Talk•Edits) 22:42, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

I suggest adding a Main Page toolbox to the top of this page (Wiktionary talk:Main Page).
English Wikipedia has one.
It just needs to have links to both WOTD entries for yesterday, today and tomorrow. Also a link to purge.
The reason is to provide a quick way for errors to be located (example).
PS: Please check my example diff to make sure I made a correct change.--Commander Keane (talk) 02:33, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi, I noticed that the Albanian Wiktionary has just crossed the 10,000 articles line, but it is still listed under Wiktionaries with 1,000+ articles. Can this be fixed manually or do we have some script issue or is the number "10,000+" defined otherwise? -- Schmackes (talk) 23:22, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

I want to learn more about the ; character and when it is used. Turns out that I cannot even search that. Try clicking the character?
Is there a page for the semicolon? If there is, can someone undo the redirection?
