יָחִיד • (yakhíd) (feminine יְחִידָה, masculine plural יְחִידִים, feminine plural יְחִידוֹת)

     וַיֹּאמֶר קַח־נָא אֶת־בִּנְךָ אֶת־יְחִידְךָ אֲשֶׁר־אָהַבְתָּ אֶת־יִצְחָק וְלֶךְ־לְךָ אֶל־אֶרֶץ הַמֹּרִיָּה וְהַעֲלֵהוּ שָׁם לְעֹלָה עַל אַחַד הֶהָרִים אֲשֶׁר אֹמַר אֵלֶיךָ׃

     vayómer kakh-ná 'et-bin'khá 'et-y'khid'khá 'asher-'ahávta 'et-yitskhák v'lékh-l'khá 'el-'érets hamoriyá v'ha'aléhu shám l'olá 'ál 'akhád heharím 'ashér 'omár 'elékha.
     wayyṓmer qaḥ-nā ʾeṯ-binəḵā ʾeṯ-yəḥīḏəḵā ʾăšer-ʾāhaḇtā ʾeṯ-yiṣḥāq wəleḵ-ləḵā ʾel-ʾéreṣ hammōriyyā wəhaʿălḗhū šām ləʿōlā ʿal ʾaḥaḏ hehārīm ʾăšer ʾōmar ʾēléḵā.

     And He said: ‘Take now thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest, even Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.’

     הַזּוֹרֵק מֵרְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד לִרְשׁוּת הָרַבִּים אוֹ מֵרְשׁוּת הָרַבִּים לִרְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד חַיָּב. מֵרְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד לִרְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד וּרְשׁוּת הָרַבִּים בָּאֶמְצַע רַבְּי עֲקִיבָה מְחַיֵּב וַחֲכָמִים פּוֹטְרִין׃

     One who throws from the private domain to the public domain or from the public domain to the private domain is liable; from the private domain to the private domain and the public domain in the middle—Rabbi Akiva finds liable, but the sages find exempt.
