Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *dʰemH- (“to smoke, blow”). Cognate with Lithuanian dùmti (“to blow”), Polish dąć (“to blow”),[1] and perhaps Proto-Germanic *dimbaną (“to fog, smoke”).
