Cognate with Northern Thai ᨲᩣ᩠ᨿ, Lao ຕາຍ (tāi), ᦎᦻ (ṫaay), Tai Dam ꪔꪱꪥ, Tai Dón ꪔꪱꪥ, Tai Daeng ꪔꪱꪥ, Shan တၢႆ (tǎai), Tai Nüa ᥖᥣᥭ (taay), Khamti တၢဲႈ, Phake တႝ (tay), Ahom 𑜄𑜩 (tay), Zhuang dai, Zuojiang Zhuang tai or hai.
