From Proto-Hellenic *lógos, from Proto-Indo-European *leǵ- (“to collect (words)”). See also λέγω (légō, “to reckon, say”).^[1]

(Philosophy) The word or wisdom of God, identified with Jesus in the New Testament, by whom the world was created; God the Son.
