崩壞

Attestable in Classical Chinese text. Later repopularized among ACG fans and then gradually on the internet from Japanese 崩(ほう)壊(かい) (hōkai), itself simplified from original 崩(ほう)潰(かい) (hōkai).

崩壞

1. to collapse; to break down; to go to pieces; to go to ruins

     Xiǎn xiǎn xì xì, bēnghuài bēichí, juéshèng nǎi bà.

     Perilous! Precipitous! Storage basins collapse, reservoirs break ― only with decisive victory does it leave off.

     Yǎngmiàn kàn nà cǎowū shí, sìxiàlǐ bēnghuài le, yòu bèi shuòfēng chuī hàn, yáo zhèn dé dòng.

     When looked up at the thatched hut, it was collapsing on all sides, and the north wind shook it, making it sway and tremble.
