This appendix lists palindromes in Tamil.

In the Dravidian script it is often harder to produce palindromes, due to the structure of the language. However, here is one example in a boxed "semi-palindrome"(matrix palindrome) as it means the same when read across or down but not reverse. The line translates to "there is a Jilebi in Shivaji's mouth".

We are pashus (maa); You are pashupati (aa maa); The One Who plays yAz (string music instrument), Desirable, Wearing attractive snake, One Who made kaama (cupid) invisible, Lord of chiirkaazi remove (n^ii - n^iikku) the powerful maaya (that surrounds us), Oh the Lord Who makes the act of concealment (thirodhAnam - one of the five deeds of God) !
